Nexus Mobility, a Pune-based electric bicycle and scooter maker, has announced plans to produce 100 percent Made-in-India products. The company said in a statement that it was working closely with various suppliers in the country with the aim of producing products locally in the Pune factory.
Nexju has decided to take as much of its electric bikes and scooter parts from the country’s market as possible, in the language of the industry, which is called ‘localization’. In addition, the company’s goal is to export good quality products made in this country to foreign markets.
Nexus said it plans to purchase lithium-ion batteries, battery management systems, BLDC hub motors, motor controllers, and LED displays from local suppliers. In this regard, Umakanta, M, Shivshankar, COO, Nexju Mobility said, “This initiative will enable us to build a strong supply chain in the country and help us achieve our goals as well as move the country’s industry forward.”
Nexju plans to expand its dealerships across India to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles. The company currently has more than 100 dealer touchpoints and an online store. The Dextro model is popular among Nexus e-scooters, available in low-speed and high-speed alternatives. In addition, the company’s Rompus, Roadlark model e-bicycle has gained a lot of popularity.
